FLYING BIG SCREEN FPV – CONTROLLING QUAD FROM LAP-TOP’S SCREEN
I hated the small FVP screens of mobile phones. I tested i-pad mini. It was better but still not as big as I want. So, I tried to find a way to connect my lap-top to the system. Current Windows 10 “connect” feature is far from being sufficient and useful.
So, I found a great free software called “ApowerMirror” . You should first download the app to mobile phone from google play and download the software to lap-top from their web site: (
Works great both in IOS and Android ;
1-) You can real-time watch the FPV on your lap-top’s big screen.
2-)You can control the NAVI from your lap-top’s screen with the mouse/touch pad. I assure you this is a great function. It sometimes becomes very hard to wiggle with the tiny control icons on phone’s screen. So, I liked this function very much.
3-)The phone attached to RC will work NAVI as usual, no problem. You can control the quad from the both of screens.
4-)You can video record your FPV screen in your lap-top’s memory instead of phone’s. This is particularly good and practical if you are doing rewievs in youtube and recording your FVP screens. The video quality is much better. You can also take screen shots.
5-)Last but not least, the software works both ways : You can control the lap-top from your phone, as you control the phone from the lap-top. I do not know what practical use this feature gives but it may come handy for some people.
There is however one short-coming : You need both phone and lap-top is connected to same internet network . It can be a problem if you are flying in very remote areas where the mobile phone internet is not available. Otherwise you can share the phone’s mobile internet with lap-top and that’s all.
I attached the scren shot of my lap-top while the software is running. Please note that this is only free version. Pro version (around 20 USD) gives full screen view and unlimited screen video recording time. I guess I will buy the pro version for the sake of bigger screen wiev.
