When SRAM released their groundbreaking wireless eTap groupset in 2015, one of the first questions — was inevitably, when will the tech appear on their more affordable Force groupset? And then, when the next generation RED eTap AXS groupset was launched at the beginning of 2019, inevitably one of the first questions was, seriously, when is it coming to Force?
Well the answer, is NOW!
More affordable wireless shifting, it’s finally happened and the big news is that functionally this shares exactly the same DNA as it’s more expensive bigger brother, Red. So, before we get onto what actually separates the two, let’s recap the key points of the new eTap AXS: As you can see SRAM, have kindly sent over a groupset on this stealthy new Orbea so that we can take you through it.
Still the biggest one: There are no wires, and no cables, it’s wireless. Shifters communicate via SRAM’s own protocol with the derailleurs. Both shifters and derailleurs also feature the same upgraded hardware and software as the new Red AXS, meaning that they react just as fast and move just as quickly. .

Una entrada para la revisión de precios del Sram Force Etap AXS de 12 velocidades. El segundo de los grupos electrónicos del fabricante americano para carretera que viene a ampliar las opciones de grupos electrónicos , actualmente son tres con la entrada del Rival AXS en el 2021
Una de las mejoras bajo mi punto de vista que trae los nuevos grupos Etap AXS (tanto Force como el RED), aparte de que llegan con 12 velocidades es que el cambio X-Range permite usar casettes con coronas de hasta 33 dientes ( 10-26 |10-28 | 10-33) no como anteriormente con el Etap 11v, que el cambio Wifli salió más tarde para poder usar desarrollos más bajos o lo que es lo mismo coronas más altas
Lo que menos gustará a muchos, es que la gran mayoría que quiera actualizar su bicicleta , sabe que los bujes/núcleos no son compatibles para albergar la corona más pequeña es de 10 dientes. En esta caso Sram nos hace cambiar como poco los núcleos a las ruedas

THE COLNAGO MONOCOQUE FRAME READY TO MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE
Colnago V3Rs Disc is a true racing frame, no compromises. Every detail has been studied and developed to obtain the maximum in terms of performance while keeping an eye to comfort.
GROUPSET AND WHEELSET
The proposed version mounts the complete 12-speed SRAM Force eTap AXS groupset that guarantees a high level of performance and quality for the most demanding cyclists. The groupset is available with 10/26, 10/28 or 10/33 cassette combinations and 33/46, 35/48 o 37/50 chainring combinations.
Together with the groupset, the bicycle is proposed with the new Fulcrum Wind 40 DB carbon wheel set characterized by the aerodynamic unidirectional finish, new aluminum hubs, USB ceramic cone-cap system to optimize the performance. Perfectly compatible with clincher and tubeless tires.
THE DESIGN
While retaining some details from the two frames that preceded it, V1-r and V2-r, the V3Rs design has profoundly changed to align with some standards that have been consolidated in recent years, not least the possibility of mounting larger tyres – up to 28 inches. It’s extremely clean and boasts excellent aerodynamic qualities together with an unprecedented lightness.
GEOMETRY
What is the point of making a light bike if you can’t ride it effectively? For this reason, the geometry has been completely redesigned. The main features are the shorter head tube, the longer fork and a greater balance across all eight size options. The height of the bottom bracket has also been changed, it is lower, to improve the driveability of the bicycle with increased tyres (28c).
CARBON FIBRE
To reach a new weight target of 790 grams for the size 50s in the raw disc version (including the metal components) we used a new type of carbon fibre that allowed Colnago to significantly increase the rigidity to lateral flexions. The new V3Rs, compared to the V2-r, has a 12% higher rigidity in the rear compartment and 6% in the front head tube area. Its ability to absorb vertical shocks has improved significantly, which translates into greater comfort.
THE FORK
Completely new and redesigned, the V3Rs fork is much lighter compared to that of the V2-r. Its raw weight (uncut) corresponds to 390 grams, TFS integrated steerer thread included. In a 50s size, which we can consider an average size, the cut fork can weigh just 340 grams. The new shape with concave sheaths in the upper part (front view) optimizes the wheel passage allowing the use of wide tyres (28c), along with comfort and lateral rigidity.
COCKPIT AREA
While the rim brake version is based on the use of dual-pivot brakes with direct mounting and external cable routing, the disc version uses the exclusive TFS Integrated fork system. The cables pass entirely, internally to the Colnago Sr9 stem and then through the fork steerer. The frame is thus extremely clean and technically more aerodynamic.
SEATPOST CLOSURE
Much of the effort has been concentrated in this area of the frame, both to reduce the overall weight of the locking system and to increase its functionality, power and safety. The new locking system is therefore smaller if compared to that of the V2-r and C64, integrated into the frame and allows a greater modulation in tightening.
