In this installment, players meet Aiden Caldwell after the chemical event who will go down and face the infected in a search for his long-lost sister Mia. The main protagonist will meet a group called The Nightrunners who could help him – or will they?
Gameplay
Dying Light 2 is a survival horror role-playing game that is set in an open-world. Because of the medical experiments, the protagonist has amazing parkour skills that make navigating through the city easier. The player can use different fractions of survivors in order to reach their goal, however, non-playable characters (NPCs) have complex personalities and Aiden’s decisions are crucial. Depending on whether he chooses to help them or attack NPCs, the city will be reshaped and the course of the narrative will change. As the title suggests, light is an important feature because hoards of monsters start roaming at night – they are sensitive to the sun, but also to light in general. This means that monsters nests are left rather unprotected when the sun comes down. This pushes players to exploit the game’s verticality.

Weapons : Using weapons in Dying Light 2 is more than useful. Techland made sure to provide players with a more satisfying feedback during combats, making the experience more fun.
Approach : Even though Aiden has some crazy acrobatic skills, this may not be enough. Players will have to elaborate wisely their strategy and use stealth techniques and develop their fighting skills . Dying Light 2 encourages players to find the personal style that suits them best.

Cream Of The Crop Of Zombie Games
Dying Light 2 has surely caused a stir ever since the first trailer appeared on E3 back in 2018. From that moment, players set huge expectations for Techland, who has previously placed a very high bar with the first Dying Light game.
Even though Dying Light 2 is far from perfect, without any doubt, we are talking about one of the best zombie games of all time, recognized for the parkour, gory combat, city-building system, freedom of the open world, and more. On the other hand, the reasons why this game isn’t flawless are some minor technical issues (which will get fixed in future updates), several filler quests, and in some cases, dreary dialogues. But even with these issues present, Dying Light 2 offers incredible fun and a fantastic AAA gameplay experience.
Dying Light 2’s map: How big is it, really?
The Dying Light 2 map is big—even bigger than I thought it was when I began playing. After the tutorial takes you into the city for the first time, the map becomes available and you get a look at the first four districts within its borders. Simply running end-to-end through a single district can take a while, even with parkour helping you dodge zombies and speed across rooftops.
But that’s just the start of the open world of Villedor. There’s a whole second section of the city that’s even bigger, which only becomes accessible after completing several story missions that grant access to the tunnel that connects the two halves of the city. The two sections of the city are separated thanks to the military bombarding the area with yellow toxic sludge that quickly kills anyone who tries crossing it.
Here’s a look at the full Dying Light 2 map after 60 hours of play, and my apologies for stitching it together so crudely. It doesn’t fit on a single screen (unless you zoom all the way out, which makes it a bit useless) and it’s not a flat 2D map so it warps as you scroll it. I did my best! Getting around the big city takes some time, but there are fast travel options that become available as you progress. Metro stations in several districts can be cleared out to become safe zones, and once you’ve visited a metro station you can use it to sleep, store your gear, and fast-travel back to it no matter where you are on the map. There are also a couple of big settlement hubs that become available for fast-travel.
The borders you see around the edges of the city districts… well, there’s more world beyond those too, surprisingly. A few missions take you out past the city walls and toxic zones where there are some pretty sizable wilderness areas. (And even some nature-loving zombies). As you can tell by the icons scattered around on my map, there are a few areas of the city I still haven’t spent all that much time in, a bunch of quests (marked by ! icons) to pick up and unknown locations (with ? icons) to find. And past those borders to the south there’s even more to explore. Some of it is more wilderness. Some is submerged underwater. Dying Light 2’s map is genuinely huge, and seems to get bigger every time I run around near the edges of it. There’s a lot of world out there!
The size of Dying Light 2’s map might be due to Techland’s plans to add more story and paid DLC in the future. There sure seems to be enough room for it.

It’s not enough to know the ways of combat and parkour to survive in Villedor. You have to be perfect. You have to be brutal. And most importantly, you must always be one step ahead of your enemies. Use 200+ weapons, 20+ weapon mods, and dozens of power moves to learn, practice, and master. Show no mercy, for it will not be shown to you.
