With the GX Eagle, SRAM offers a 1×12 group with a wide gear ratio at a low price. It adopts numerous technologies from the revolutionary SRAM XX1 Eagle Top Group and, with perfectly coordinated shifting components, ensures extremely high performance and durability under all conditions. The transmission range of 500% is on the level of 2-fold drives. However, with the 1×12 drive, the additional weight and the poorer switching performance of the derailleur are eliminated.
Whether pedal-heavy descents or the steepest ramps, the XG-1275 cassette provides you with the right gears in every terrain with 10-50 teeth. The stamped steel pinion and a 50 tooth aluminum pinion ensure a high durability of the cassette. The pinions are not connected by a spider, but are riveted with stainless steel pins. This not only makes the fullpin cassette lighter than conventional cassettes, the open design also offers excellent self-cleaning in muddy conditions. The teeth, which have been optimized with SRAM’s X-Glide 2 technology, guarantee optimum shifting performance when shifting up and down.

When you need a functionally solid XD driver cassette that just works well and doesn’t break the bank, you can’t beat a good old GX cassette. It might not be the lightest or the crispest shifting but it works flawlessly for miles and miles without hesitation (That’s really nit-picking). It’s a great default workhorse of a cassette in the SRAM line-up at a price point most can afford. Although it won’t be lighter on the bike compared to a X01 XG-1295 or XX1 XG-1299, it also won’t lighten the wallet like said cassettes. If you’re about just getting out on your bike and having a good time and not a weight weenie look no further. As a high use wear item I’d highly recommend the GX cassette to keep you on the trail and keeping that extra cash in you pocket for other things.
