Maxxis latest coup for fast 29er bikes!
In the newly developed tire, Maxxis realizes its 3C MaxxSpeed rubber compound. The different layers in the tread blocks are to ensure with their respective degree of hardness for less rolling resistance, a long life and better grip. The low weight is achieved by the well-known fine 120 DPI carcass.
The structure of the tire and the individual tread blocks is ideal for loose and hard ground suitable but also on rocks and roots when it is wet, convinces the grippy 3C MaxxSpeed rubber compound.
For very coarse, rocky terrain, this IKON has the EXO-Protection design, which safely protects the side walls with little extra weight.
EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
tube loose tires have many advantages: you can drive with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube , the breakdown risk also decreases. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for installation with sealant than other “tubeless ready” tires. The bead of our TR tire is like a real UST tube tackle completely coated with a rubber layer. As a result, tube assembly on all rims with standard dimensions is already successful on initial inflation and with little liquid.
Even “normal” MAXXIS MTB tires can be mounted like other Tubeless tires with sealant as the carcass fabrics are very dense.
Officially released for tubeless assembly and guaranteed by MAXXIS are only the new MAXXIS TR models. Tubeless mounting of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against using ammonia-containing sealant. Ammonia has been shown to attack the carcass and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% after only a few months.
3C MaxxSpeed
Our fastest 3C compound for XC and some AllMountain / Enduro tires is designed for lowest rolling resistance due to the hard undercarriage and the fast center tread compound , but with the grippy compound on the sides it offers even superior grip in curves, even in wet conditions. Typical of MAXXIS is also the very long life.

Équipé sur un cube aim pro 2021 j’ai gagné 1kg par rapport à ceux d’origine meilleure angle d’inclinaison dans les virages j’ai roulé beaucoup sur du sec entre chemins et bitumes ils sont excellent ! D’ailleurs je suis surpris j’ai l’impression qu’ils sont plus roulant que sur le bitume. Petit point qui me fait vraiment plaisir ce sont des pneus bruiant sur asphalte lorsqu’on prend un peu de vitesse ah je trouve le son joli mais très joli timal !! J’espère qu’ils tiendront dans le temps.

Utilisé principalement sur terrain sec, dur et/ou rocailleux (abrasif et cassant), je suis très satisfait par la traction, le rendement et la robustesse (même si je déplore une crevaison- sur une piste- réparée avec une mèche). Utilisé 1 ou 2 fois sur terrain mouillé- voire gras- (bois/terre), le pneu se comporte bien là aussi (mieux qu’un pur pneu terrain sec). Du costaud qui a un bon rendement.
