This 32 is the slightly slimmed-down top model from FOX for cross-country and marathon use. Despite the 32 mm stanchions, the suspension fork offers enormous rigidity values on par with the FOX 34 Step-Cast forks.
The entry into the world of Fox suspension forks for cross country and marathon riders begins with the forks of the Performance series.
The 3-Pos Grip dampers with the closed cartridge have the same structural design as the FIT4 dampers. As a result, the fork has a significantly higher spring travel and a smoother response while maintaining the same performance.
32 mm stanchions with a low-friction coating and exclusive SKF seals guarantee a long service life. Different tuning options ensure the best performance on the trail, provided they are set correctly. And that is exactly where the problem lies. Many hobby drivers are overwhelmed by this and do not fully exploit the potential of their chassis due to incorrect settings. The result is more frustration than pleasure while biking.
To prevent such problems in the future, Fox thought about it and developed the 3-pos system. This extremely simplifies the adjustment of the compression levels, as well as the adjustment of the spring elements among each other and thus enables an unparalleled performance and harmony of your chassis.
32 SC chassis design
The distinctive shape of the immersion tube design is not just for the visuals. With the Step-Cast (SC) fork chassis of the 32 series, FOX uses a narrow design to save weight. The step in the lower part of the fork creates space for the spokes and the brake rotor. The 32 SC fork scores with excellent handling characteristics. 32 mm stanchions and generously overlapping sockets ensure precise implementation of the steering impulses.
3-POS GRIP damper
Inspired by motocross technology, the GRIP damper cartridge works with a spring-loaded, independently working, floating piston. The GRIP technology allows the excess damping oil to flow through ports at the upper end of the damper, which guarantees even damping and increases durability. The forks of the Performance Series series provide the modes Open, Medium and Firm as well as an additional fine adjustment option between these three basic settings. Is an intuitive driving dynamics system with preset compression level with 3 different modes: Open, Medium and Firm. The driver now only has to worry about setting the spring preload and rebound.
EVOL
The response of the fork is significantly improved by the enlarged negative air chamber. This increases comfort because the breakaway torque can be reduced. In addition, a more linear spring characteristic offers better performance, especially in the middle travel ranges.
FLOAT AIR SPRING
The FLOAT air suspension system reduces the breakaway torque and thus offers a highly sensitive fork and full comfort even with small impacts. And that for every type of driver and with the most varied of air pressures. Similar to the FLOAT spring struts, the FLOAT spring system is characterized by a positive and a negative air chamber, which automatically counterbalance each other when driving. Every driver can enjoy the benefits of the correct, precisely balanced air pressure in both air chambers. The progression of the spring characteristic can be adjusted with our air volume spacers – which enables every driver to set the characteristics of the air spring precisely.
AIR VOLUME SPACERS
The FLOAT air spring on our forks and shock absorbers can be fine-tuned using volume spacers in order to make the spring elements more progressive or less progressive. This allows the driver to fine-tune the suspension exactly according to his needs.

The Fox 32 A Float 29″ StepCast Performance is a lightweight fork with 3PosGrip-damper – designed for Cross-Country und Marathon riders.The lightweight 32 Performance Series for the ambitious cross-country rider, features a GRIP damper, FLOAT air spring and super lightweight chassis for maximum reliability and control.The distinct shape of the lower leg design isn’t just for looks. The 32 StepCast (SC) chassis uses a narrow stance to save weight and the step design makes room for the spokes and brake rotor. The 32 SC features 32mm upper tubes and ample bushing overlap for a quality ride and the hollowed out lower legs provide even more weight savings.
GRIP Damper
Inspired from moto, the new GRIP damper uses our FIT sealed cartridge technology combined with a coil-sprung, independent floating piston. GRIP allows excess oil to purge through specially designed ports at the top of the damper to maintain consistent damping and increase durability. Performance Series forks provide Open, Medium, and Firm modes with additional micro-adjust between settings.
FLOAT Airspring The FLOAT air spring system developed for 32, 34 and 40 is lighter and reduces the force to initiate travel, providing excellent sensitivity and small bump compliance for all riders and pressure settings. Similar to our FLOAT rear shocks, the new FLOAT system features positive and negative air springs that automatically equalize during use to give each rider the right pressure balance. The progressiveness of the spring curve can be adjusted via air volume spacers, allowing riders to fine-tune the feel of the air spring.
EVOL
A more linear spring curve gives EVOL forks and shocks plushness off the top, extra mid-stroke support, and more tunable bottom-out progression, allowing riders to tap into the ideal pairing of front and rear-end feel. The EVOL technology from rear shocks is now integrated into all FOX forks. EVOL increases negative air spring volume, specifically positioned and sized for optimum small bump sensitivity.
Air Volume Spacers The progressiveness of the FLOAT air spring curve can be adjusted via air volume spacers, allowing riders to fine-tune the feel of the air spring.
