The T30 is DreameTech’s latest cordless stick vacuum with a larger motor and battery. It has its latest motor that spins 150,000 RPM, 25,000 faster than the Dyson V15 Detect. I put it through airflow and suction tests to see if indeed it has more power and it was close at least for the suction test, but not so with the airflow test.
Cleaning performance, especially on carpet was superb. It was very good on surface debris and above average in deep cleaning experiments. But it won’t be as good as other brands with a soft roller on hard floors and the cleaning tests prove it.
Overall, the DreameTech T30 is an excellent option for folks looking for a stick vacuum capable of cleaning carpet without spending a fortune.

The Latest Dreame T30 is Better Than a Dyson V15?

Updated: Sep 23, 2022

The Dreame T30 aims to challenge the Dyson’s flagship the V15 but at a lower cost. This is the latest cordless vacuum from DreameTech. A new feature, the smart screen shows additional cleaning information such as dust levels, runtime status, and cleaning modes.

It has what DreameTech calls intelligent dirt sensing technology that increases suction in high-traffic areas. Similar to what we have seen in the Dyson V15 Detect and Tineco PureOne S12, only Dreame uses a line graph for reference. The main nozzle also has a sensor similar to a Dyson that increases suction on carpet and reverts back on hard surfaces to maximize run time and reduce the need to switch power settings.

Let’s talk more about the latest Dreame T30, the most-featured and powerful cordless vacuum in the lineup.

DreameTech T30 Automatically increases suction when detecting dust Cleaning performance on carpet is above average. $499.99 on Amazon

The DreameTech latest model after the T10 and T20 with a larger capacity battery and a bigger motor with 27000 Pa of suction and 190 watts a high number. But still 40 below the V15 Detect.

The results os measuring its airflow and suction

Airflow/Model DreameTech T30 (Cleaning Head) Dreame T30 Wand Dyson V15 Low, CFM 27 28.52 29.98 Mid, CFM 30.64 36.95 36.32 Max, CFM 41.91 58.35 69.19 Suction 94 94 100

However, airflow numbers aren’t as close to the V15 where it maxed out at 41.91 CFM at the cleaning head and 58.35 CFM at the wand. These numbers are still good and the cleaning results reflect these figures.

This vacuum boasts of a 90-minute runtime from a single detachable battery. however, with non-power tools attached that figure goes down to 55 minutes.

Design

One issue the design has is the charging pin placement behind the handle. So there’s no way of charging the battery separately but having a detachable battery is a plus since it’s easier to replace the screen behind the motor provides users easy access to real-time data about runtime status power mode and a line drop that shows dirt quantity.

As it is picked up there are two buttons one for toggling between four different power modes. An electronic trigger lock lets the vacuum go without having to squeeze a trigger (compared to the Dyson V15 that lacks it).

The Dreame’s brushroll resisting hair tangles better than the Dyson’s which keeps having strands wrapping on one axle.

Cleaning tests & filtration

Debris pickup is on the better side as the T30 handles picking up lots of dust on both surfaces including a deep cleaning test with an average score of 94%. On low and auto settings performance didn’t change much making the Dreame T30 on par with the premium Dyson V11 or V15 Detect options.

On carpet, the Dreame T30 shows similar cleaning performance compared to the Dyson V11 or V15

Hard floor cleaning is above-average but the lack of a soft roller makes debris scatter away. With the smallest particles, the vacuum does the job just fine tho.

While the T30 has a pre-motor and post-motor HEPA filter it didn’t pass the fog test. It did well initially but eventually leaked at side vents. It wasn’t a full-blown leak.

Problems with the Dreame T30

One issue with the nozzle is a slow clearance. On a big amount of debris, it tends to push it further so parts of the mess don’t get vacuumed up. On the other hand, on a daily basis it should not be an issue.

Steering is another concern as the cleaning head lacks responsiveness. It doesn’t turn smoothly and feels rigid.

Accessories and ease of use

The foldable insert enables this vacuum to clean deep under furniture. It’s a similar design to the Shark Vertex. But the Sharks version is built into the wand, while the Dreame version is a separate piece. And since the elbow is closer to the handle it will reach deeper under furniture.

The crevice tool these LED lights at the tip to help with tracking dirt.

Dirt capacity is above average for a stick vacuum (0.15 gallons or 660 ml) and has a trap door at the bottom for disposing of dirt. You can disassemble the whole dustbin assembly if needed for a better clean.

Another concern is the noise. The Dreame T30 reaches 71-73 dB with the cleaning head attached which is something you would expect from such a powerful cleaner.

To sum up

Its most significant drawbacks filtration and steering may be deal breakers for some. And usability advantages over the Dyson V11 and V15 makes the Dreame T30 a better value for money alternative if a Dyson is too expensive for you. But since cleaning performance is about the same, why paying more?

DreameTech T30 Review: Better Than a Dyson?

DreameTech T30 Review

A lot has changed since DreameTech released the V10 sometime last year. One of which is the new T-series culminating in the latest T30 we’ll look at in this review.

This model currently has the most power and runs the longest at 91 minutes based on my tests. Dreame told me that they aim to challenge the Dyson V15, but is it really that good? I’ve tested the V15 extensively, and it was one of the best performing cordless stick vacuums. How does the Dreame T30 compare? Find out in this review.

Is It Better Than The Dyson V15 Detect? Dreame T30 Review The T30 is DreameTech’s latest model having the most suction at 27Kpa, generating up to 190 air watts of suction – 40 less than the V15. But one selling point of this vacuum is its lower cost. It’s got some high-tech features like the smart screen behind the motor that provides real-time data. The v-shaped brush layout is one of the best (if not the best) at cleaning long strands of hair. I’ve spent the past few days testing it, and the results were excellent, especially on carpet. Pros

High-end suction and excellent airflow

Excellent at cleaning surface debris on carpet

One of the best at picking up long hair strands

Lengthy run time – up to 91 minutes with suction-only tools

Automatically increases suction on carpet

The smart screen provides real-time data with run time, error codes, and more

Much cheaper than the Dyson V15 Detect

Cons

Quite noisy

It doesn’t have a fully sealed system

Not as good on hard floors

Short warranty (only one year)

Introduction to the DreameTech T30

One feature that intrigued me and why I agreed to do this review is the smart screen feature. Screens aren’t an entirely new feature, but I like Dreame’s usability and the contrast it brings to the table.

The colored text/graphics and black background provide excellent readability, and its position behind the motor gives users easy access to information.

The T30 has a sensor that counts debris and displays that information on the smart screen through a line graph.

It doesn’t measure particles like the Dyson V15 but only shows quantity like the Tineco Pure One S12 .

This feature provides a visual cue on areas that are clean and not. However, it only seems to detect larger dirt particles.

I tried in on dusty zones, and the sensors don’t seem to track smaller particles better than larger ones.

Dreame Space 5.0 Motor

This variant has the Dreame Space 5.0 motor, spinning at a dizzying 150,000 RPM (25,000 more than the V15 motor) that generates up to 190 air watts of suction.

Now realize that RPM isn’t a sound basis to determine how well a vacuum will clean. To prove this, I tested the T30 suction versus the Dyson V15 Detect using a vacuum water lift gauge.

The T30 had an impressive 94″ of water lift, but six less than the Dyson V15 (100″).

So having higher RPMs doesn’t always equate to higher suction, as evidenced by this test.

But the T30 is on the upper echelon in terms of suction. It is higher than the V11 Outsize and V11 Torque Drive, which is impressive for a mid-priced cord-free vacuum.

Please note that I did the tests at the highest setting. I’m still fine-tuning the testing process, so bear with me if there are inconsistencies.

90-minute run time

Another selling point of the Dreame T30 is its lengthy 90-minute run time, thanks to the 2900 mAh Li-ion battery.

I tested it, and the claim is valid as it lasted for up to 91 minutes but with suction-only tools.

However, it lasted up to 55 minutes with the main nozzle – much shorter than the V15’s 85-minutes.

The battery is detachable, but it’s impossible to charge it separately because the charging pin is located behind the handle. This is one improvement that Dreame should look at in future releases.

LED crevice tool

Another unique feature I saw with the T30 is the LED-equipped crevice tool, helping to visibility and tracking dirt.

It’s the first of its kind I’ve seen and tested. Illumination isn’t too bring, but it still provides better visibility than something without it.

Dustbin design

The T30 retains the same dustbin design as older T10 and T20 variants with a 0.15-gallon (or 0.66-liter) capacity. For cordless vacuum standards, it’s average, slightly smaller than the Dyson V11.

It has the same trap door design as the older models, but not the hygienic system or a Dyson.

One plus is it is fully detachable, and users can disassemble the different components if needed for a more thorough clean.

There are two primary filters – a pre-motor and post-motor HEPA. However, it doesn’t have a fully sealed system. I tested it using a fog machine, and there was a slight leak at the exhaust.

Trigger lock

One feature it has over the Dyson V15 is this electronic trigger lock behind the motor.

What it does is keep the motor on without having to squeeze the trigger, which improves usability when cleaning floors.

Ergonomics and usability

The T30 utilizes a similar design as the Dyson V8 but slightly heavier (3 pounds and 15 ounces vs. the V8’s 3 pounds and 7 ounces). So expect the same type of handheld ergonomics above floors.

However, the trigger lock gives it a slight advantage over the Dyson V8 because there’s less arm and wrist fatigue, plus the inclusion of a flexible hose makes the T30 better for handheld use.

Cleaning nozzle design

Dreame only included a single floor cleaning nozzle – the anti-tangle brush with the V-shape brush pattern and combs above to untangle hair. It doesn’t have a soft roller attachment included.

This design does work and one of the best (perhaps the best) at resisting hair tangles on carpets and hard floors.

While it picks up on hard floors well, it isn’t as efficient and doesn’t steer as well as a soft roller attachment.

The steering feels stiff, and it doesn’t turn as sharply as a Dyson, which is its biggest drawback.

How much power does the DreameTech T30 have?

I used an anemometer and vacuum water lift gauge to measure power.

Here are the results after the airflow test with the cleaning nozzle.

Low: 27 CFM

Mid: 30.64 CFM

Max: 41.91 CFM

And extension wand.

Low: 28.52 CFM

Mid: 36.95 CFM

Max: 58.35 CFM

The drop-off between the T30 and V15 is more significant with the airflow test than on the suction test – up to 22%!

It was much closer in the suction test, with the T30 having an excellent 94″ of water lift, only 6% less than the V15’s 100″.

Cleaning performance

Next, we’ll look at how well the T30 cleans floors. To check, I put it through my usual series of tests on debris types such as quaker oats, quinoa, coffee grounds, pet litter, sand, and hair.

Overall: 97.93%

Hard floor: 98.05%

Sand on hard floor: 99.8%

Carpet: 99.9%

Deep cleaning: 94%

The first thing that stands out is its performance on carpet, which is A+. It did better on this surface versus hard floors, which is expected since it only has the standard brush attachment.

Hard floor results

Quaker oats: 93.2%

Coffee grounds: 100%

Quinoa: 99.6%

Pet litter: 99.4%

It did the worst cleaning quaker oats, picking up only 93.2%. The problem isn’t pick-up but the lack of clearance. There isn’t much with the T30’s cleaning head, so a small portion of it was snowplowed.

Another issue is the lack of efficiency versus a soft roller attachment. I’m not a big fan of using standard nozzles for cleaning hard floors for this reason.

Sand on hard floor

Despite not having a soft roller attachment, the T30 still picked up sand well with a 99.8% average. But I had to use the max setting to achieve this score, highlighting the brush’s inefficiency.

Sand is one of the most challenging particles to clean on hard floors and requires exceptionally high airflow or agitation to pick up.

Edge cleaning

The T30 excels at cleaning edges needing only a few passes to clean this area.

It wasn’t as good in the quarter-inch crevice pick-up test, where it left some debris on this area.

Hair wrap test on hard floors

Next, we’ll look at the T30’s capability at resisting hair tangles on hard floors, and the results were excellent.

I used hair strands between five and twelve inches to torture-test this stick vacuum.

The results speak for themselves here. It picked up 100% in all the tests, much better than the Dyson V15, where twelve-inch strands wrapped on the roller and axle.

Carpet performance

This vacuum will do better on carpet due to the brush design and high suction. The results on low and mid pile carpet are proof of its capability. Having high suction and a good seal is essential to clean this surface well.

Low pile results

Quaker oats: 100%

Coffee grounds: 99.2%

Quinoa: 100%

Pet litter: 100%

These are nearly perfect scores on low pile carpet – at par with the more expensive Dyson V15 Detect and V11 Outsize.

Mid pile results

Quaker oats: 100%

Coffee grounds: 100%

Quinoa: 100%

Pet litter: 100%

The T30 aced all the tests here with a straight 100% overall score. Again, the above-average airflow and brush dynamics are important factors why it picked up well.

Deep cleaning test

To check how well the Dreame T30 does at cleaning embedded dirt, I rubbed 100 grams of sand on mid-pile carpet. It picked up an average of 94% on two tests using the max setting, which is worse than the Dyson V11 Torque Drive , Outsize, and V15 Detect, but one of the best at its price bracket.

I also tried using the low and middle settings, and the results didn’t taper off much.

Low: 91.4%

Auto: 93.5%

It’s a decent percentage, but a notch below the V15 Detect on these settings. But considering the price difference, this vacuum is something to look at if Dyson is too costly.

Hair wrap test on carpet

Like on hard floors, the T30 is excellent at picking up hair on carpet. It successfully resisted hair strands – even 12-inch long hair without anything wrapping on the brush – better than the Dyson V15 Detect and Shark Vertex.

Hair wrapped on the brush initially, but hair eventually untangled after around 30 seconds.

Consider this cordless stick vacuum if you need to clean pet hair on either surface. If it can clean long strands, shorter ones shouldn’t be an issue.

How long will the DreameTech T30 run?

Dreame claims a 90-minute run time, and tests prove this figure to be accurate – 91 minutes to be exact, but only with non-powered tools.

Slap on the main nozzle, and that number goes down to 55 minutes.

How noisy is the DreameTech T30?

To check noise levels, I use a sound meter in each power setting, and here are the results.

Low: 71.4 dB

Mid: 72.4 dB

Max: 78.3 dB

This vacuum is loud, which shouldn’t surprise you since most high suction cordless vacuums will produce a lot of noise.

Availability of parts

DreameTech being a new brand means parts availability will not be as abundant. The good news is that this company has been active with product releases, which means it is committed to improving. However, I don’t see much with parts availability on Amazon. Most of the accessories sold are for robot vacuums, but not stick vacuums. Only time will tell if this changes.

Does the DreameTech T30 offer good value?

The high suction and superb carpet cleaning results at its price make the T30 an excellent value-for-money alternative to the Dyson V15.

Realize that the T30 won’t steer or deep clean as well as the V15 Detect, especially in the low and auto settings.

Hard floor performance is decent, but I’d prefer using a soft roller on this surface. But that’s my preference, and the T30 can clean this surface well enough to warrant consideration.

This vacuum isn’t without its flaws. I’ve highlighted two, but the difference between this and the V15 Detect as wide as the price difference would suggest.

5 Reasons to consider the DreameTech T30

High suction: The T30 only trails the V15 Detect with suction with up to 94″ of water lift. Excellent performance on carpet: This vacuum will clean carpets well thanks to its high suction, solid brush dynamics, and seal. Superb hair pick-up on both surfaces: The results speak for themselves with the T30. It was the best so far at resisting hair tangles, even from 12-inch hair strands. Handheld ergonomics: Usability above floors will be better with the flexible hose and trigger lock. Lengthy run time: It lasted up to 91 minutes in my tests – an impressive number from a single battery.

The Verdict: Value for Money Alternative to the Dyson V15

Despite its flaws with steering and filtration, the DreameTech T30 is an excellent option to consider if the Dyson V15 is too expensive. The price difference is a good enough reason to contemplate this option if you don’t mind the downsides I’ve outline in this review.

Being a Xiaomi-backed firm does help as this company is known for manufacturing high-quality products.

Only time will tell if it’ll be popular enough that third-party manufacturers will start selling parts like the battery. For now, as it stands, the T30 is a decent Dyson alternative that won’t break the bank.

Dreame T30 Review: More powerful than the Dyson V15 Detect, at half the price

I start to feel really in trouble when I have to review a Dreame cordless cyclonic vacuum cleaner because, I tell you in total honesty, the Chinese company born under the protective wing of Xiaomi continues to constantly improve, and tell each new product that it does. it is one of the best in the market, it starts to get almost “boring” as well as making it seem like I always say the same things.

But, you see, with its 27.000 Pa, a 150.000 rpm motor, an automatic dirt recognition system and a battery pack to say the least. poco capacious, the Dream T30 – at least on paper – it can even compete hands down with the Dyson V15 Detect (the new English vacuum cleaner with the laser on the brush). And it does so at a much more competitive selling price: with the coupon you find in the box below, you could take home the Dream T30 at a discounted price of around 313 euros.

Dreame T30 Review: Leave the Dyson V15 Detect on the shelf

Package Contents

The packaging of the Dream T30 it is typical of the company. Compact and full of accessories, in the package there are several brushes with which to make the most of the vacuum cleaner.

There is a 2-in-1 brush, a soft dusting brush, a mini electric brush, a crevice nozzle with an LED and a smart multi-brush as well as a flexible adapter and a carbon fiber shaft.

Design and materials

With the Dream T30, the company has not only made progress when it comes to suction technologies. The new cordless cyclonic vacuum cleaner arrives on the market with several innovations also in terms of design and materials. The style continues to be the minimalist one we are accustomed to by now, enriched however by a rod made of carbon fiber and a new rear display on which you can even see a graph relating to the progress of cleaning, in order to keep track both of the cleaning progress and of the amount of dust that is detected by the sensors. And again via the display, you will be notified if it is necessary to replace (or clean) the HEPA filter integrated in the vacuum cleaner.

The dominant material continues to be polycarbonate, made with a gray color that tends to minimize the evidence of any dirt on the brushes, the shapes are the typical pistol shapes (complete with a trigger for suction) and there is the very convenient “Hold” function with which cleaning can be carried out without necessarily having to hold down the appropriate button.

With its 1.76 kg weight of the central unit alone, it must be said that the Dream T30 it is not among the lightest cordless vacuum cleaners on the market, but it is clear that the hooks for the various accessories are always there firmly fixed to the vacuum cleaner: to hook and unhook them there is a soft and precise locking mechanism, which simplifies the whole process as much as possible.

The adapter that will allow you to literally bend the carbon fiber rod, and the nozzle brush that integrates a LED are very comfortable: in this way, if you were to vacuum in difficult to reach and very dark corners, you can do it in total simplicity and without losing even a speck of dust.

And just as simple is the battery release system, with which you can very quickly replace the power source of the vacuum cleaner in order to use a second battery (not included in the package) and continue to clean the house if the first one runs out.

Unfortunately, the charging base continues to be on the wall: frankly, I would have preferred that Dreame had started to follow this year’s trend, totally abandoning the idea of having to drill the wall of the house and integrating a free-standing charging base in the package. , much more comfortable and to simply rest on the floor. Sin.

And if there’s one thing the Dyson V15 Detect can beat the Dream T30 it is the dirt container. In the English vacuum cleaner we find a slightly larger container than the 600 ml one present in the new Dreame model. But don’t get me wrong, actually the dirt bin’s Dream T30 it is in the standard, in terms of dimensions, and continues to be characterized by the typical downward opening which – as usual – you will need to learn how to handle with dexterity, to avoid dirt falling on your hands during cleaning. The whole system of HEPA filtersFurthermore, it can be disassembled and washed under running water as long as you pay close attention to drying: the company recommends letting all components dry for at least 24 hours after washing.

Technical characteristics – Dreame T30

Here is the complete technical data sheet of the Dreame T30:

Engine revolutions: 150.000 per minute;

Suction power: 27.000 Pa / 190 Aw;

Motor rated power: 550w;

Container capacity: 0.6 L;

Battery: 8 * 2900mAh replaceable;

Charging time: 4 hours (approximately).

Suction power and operation

To animate the Dream T30 there is a 5.0w Dreame SPACE550 motor that is able to guarantee a power of 27.00 Pa and 190 AW at 150.000. Almost record numbers that, just think, exceed the 120.000 rpm of the Hyperdymium engine of the Dyson V15 Detect, for example.

There are 3 operating modes and vary, in addition to the power, also the battery life (which we will discuss in depth in poco).

Eco mode : you use the vacuum cleaner every day and in environments where the dirt is light or of poco thickness.

: you use the vacuum cleaner every day and in environments where the dirt is light or of poco thickness. Medium mode : excellent more than enough for daily cleaning. This mode is a good compromise between autonomy and power;

: excellent more than enough for daily cleaning. This mode is a good compromise between autonomy and power; Turbo mode: aspires whatever you find in front of you, be it cereals, soil or even sugar and flour.

Il surface recognition is always active, regardless of the suction mode you are using, but can only be used with the largest motorized brush: regardless of whether you are using the cyclonic vacuum cleaner in medium or low mode, Dreame’s technology will recognize the surface on which he is at work ed will adapt the suction power and the speed of rotation in the brush.

It goes without saying, therefore, that there will be nothing that the Dream T30 he will not be able to aspire. Its suction power would even be enough to lift two AAA batteries off the ground, and the maneuverability is what the company has accustomed us to: in the review of the Dreame T20 Pro I have said several times that Dreame’s products are the only ones able to equalize the handling of the Roborock H6 Adapt, and with the T30 things don’t change.

Also excellent suction on carpets, and that’s where the Dream T30 it beats all previous models of the company and puts it on the same level as Dyson products: the brush hardly entangles and the cleaning is done deeply. Good job, especially considering that the main brush has been designed to better vacuum hair and animal hair, preventing them from twisting around the rotation mechanism.

Battery Life – Xiaomi Dreame T30

As already mentioned, the battery pack that animates the Dream T30 it is among the most capacious on the market. In the new Chinese cordless vacuum cleaner 8 2900 mAh batteries have been integrated, but one thing is clear: the autonomy does not increase compared to previous models. And the reason is simple: by increasing the suction power, consumption increases, which have therefore been balanced with a larger battery pack.

In a nutshell, the autonomy of the Dream T30 is very similar to the one we saw in the Dreame T20 Pro (except in the use at minimum power): at maximum suction power, I was able to use the vacuum cleaner to poco less than 10 minutes. At the minimum, however, I almost reached 90 minutes of autonomy.

Charging is also slow: to go from 0% to 100% battery, it will take about 4 hours of charging using the charger in the package.

Selling price and considerations

The sale price of Dream T30 is $ 499,99, but through the coupon you find in the box below you could take it home in early bird taking advantage of a discount to say the least poco interesting valid until June 26: taking advantage of the $ 20 coupon that is present on the product page, and buying it in preview, you could buy the Dream T30 at the price of approximately EUR 313. And I won’t go into too much talk: buy it, if you need a new vacuum cleaner.

Too bad for the dirt container which continues to be slightly underpowered and the lack of a free-standing charging base. But, apart from these details, there is well poco to criticize the new Xiaomi vacuum cleaner.

Dreame T30 vs Dyson V11: Here’s why you should buy Dreame!

Since all of us have been staying indoors for the past year or so, it’s become more important than ever to keep our surroundings clean. Be it dust entering through the window, kids spilling food, or just pet hair flying around in your house, the best way to clean everything up and make sure your environment is neat and tidy is by using a vacuum cleaner. Vacuum cleaners have powerful suction and sophisticated filters that can make the cleaning process quite easy compared to manual cleaning or sweeping. Especially if you have a carpeted floor, vacuums are the best way to go about cleaning it.

XDA VIDEO OF THE DAY

If you’ve decided to get yourself a vacuum to clean your house, office, or just about any enclosed area or surface, you may get confused with the number of options available to you. There are different kinds of vacuum cleaners like traditional vacuums that need to be plugged into an outlet for power, robot vacuums that can go around your house by themselves and can be controlled via an app, and handheld or cordless vacuums that are battery operated. The ones we’re discussing today belong to the last category, meaning they’re cordless vacuums that don’t have to be plugged in all the time while cleaning.

We’re going to take a look at the Dreame T30 and the Dyson V11 and tell you which one outweighs the other and which cordless vacuum is best suited for your needs. Both the Dreame T30 and the Dyson V11 are available at a similar price point but have some key differences that set them apart from each other. If you’re looking to buy a cordless vacuum around the $500 mark, here’s the Dreame T30 vs Dyson V11 comparison to help you decide which one you should get.

Build and Design

Starting off with the way both the vacuums are constructed, The Dreame T30 is slightly lighter and has an overall slimmer look than the Dyson V11. The Dreama T30 weighs in at around 2.8Kg whereas the Dyson V11 is heavier at 3.1Kg making the Dreame slightly easier to handle and operate. Both offer a similar design in terms of changing the brush and accessories on the vacuum to clean different surfaces and areas. The sleek construction of the Dreame T30 also means that it’s easier to maneuver in tight spaces and corners.

Suction Power

This is one of the most, if not the most important factor when it comes to vacuums as the suction power is what decides how effective the cleaning of the vacuum is going to be. Especially when you have larger particles or dust and stains that are stuck to the floor, higher suction power is vital while cleaning. The Dreame T30 has a suction power of 190 Airwatt which is higher than the 185 Airwatt suction power of the Dyson V11. In simple terms, the Dreama T30 will suck in the dust with more power than the Dyson V11.

Rotations Per Minute

Rotations Per Minute or RPM go hand-in-hand with suction power in determining the cleaning effectiveness of the vacuum. The general rule is that the higher the RPM of the motor inside, the better is the cleaning ability of the vacuum. The Dreame T30 can achieve a maximum motor speed of 150,000 RPM which is considerably higher than the 125,000 RPM motor speed that the Dyson V11 can achieve. If you have sticky stains on your floor or a lot of dust in your carpets, the extra RPM is surely going to help.

Dust Canister

Vacuums store the dust particles in a canister while cleaning that needs to be emptied after every cleaning session. The Dyson V11 has a canister size of 0.75L while the Dreame T30 has a canister size of 0.6L. The slightly smaller canister size on the Dreame T30 means that you will have to empty a little earlier compared to the V11, but it allows the Dreame to be slightly more compact as mentioned earlier, and also easier to store as a result. However, the cleaner head on the Dyson V11 needs to be removed before emptying the bin which is an added step as compared to the Dreame T30.

Run Time

Run time is another important aspect of any cordless vacuum since it runs on battery power and hence cannot be used indefinitely unlike vacuums that plug into a wall outlet. Since they run on battery power, the battery needs to be recharged periodically on both these vacuums. However, the Dreame T30 takes the lead in this department with a considerably better runtime of about 90 minutes as compared to the 60 minutes runtime on the Dyson V11. That’s 50% more cleaning time using the Dreame T30 which is a lot of extra time to clean before you have to plug it into the charger.

Display and Controls

Both vacuums have multiple modes that can be changed and controlled using the panel present on top of the handle. There is a button to cycle through the various modes and a screen above it that displays which mode you are in along with the remaining battery levels. The display on the Dreame T30 is an OLED panel that allows for better visibility, especially under harsh lighting conditions. The Dyson V11, on the other hand, has an LCD display but it doesn’t really make that big of a difference especially on a vacuum. What does make a difference, though, is the lock button that’s present on the Dreame T30 which allows you to lock the mode you are in to avoid constantly pressing the button while cleaning. This isn’t present on the Dyson V11 and will surely help reduce the fatigue on your fingers.

Docking Station

After using both vacuums, they can be stored in a docking station that comes bundled with the vacuums and can be mounted onto a wall. The Dreame T30 has an integrated charging and docking station, which means resting it inside the dock can also charge the battery on the Dreame T30. With the Dyson V11, the batteries can be charged separately. The Dreame T30 takes about 4 hours to fully charge whereas the Dyson V11 takes about half an hour more.

Cleaning Effectiveness and Maintenance

Both the Dreame T30 and the Dyson V11 claim to clean up to 99.7% of particles that are up to 0.3 microns in size. You don’t have to be worried about either vacuum as the cleaning efficiency on both is similar. As for the maintenance, the Dreame T30’s filtration system can be completely disassembled and cleaned whereas the cyclones on the Dyson V11 are fixed and cannot be taken apart to be cleaned.

Accessories

The Dreame &30 and the Dyson V11, both come with a similar set of accessories. There’s a roller brush that is used to clean the floor, a secondary cleaner brush, a small nozzle to clean narrow spaces and crevices, and a 2-in-1 brush. The Dreame T30 also has an additional extension hose that can be used to clean places that you cannot reach easily, making cleaning more convenient.

Dreame T30 vs Dyson V11: Which one offers Better Value?

When comparing the Dreame T30 vs the Dyson V11, the Dreame T30 is more affordable than the Dyson V11 and clearly has better features along with stronger suction power, considerably better runtime, a higher RPM for the motors, and is easier to maintain. Overall, the Dreame T30 offers better value when compared to the Dyson V11 and performs better in almost every single aspect. Better features, plus it’s cheaper. What more do you want?

Usability – 98% 98%

Value – 95% 95% 97% Summary The DreameTech T30 is a solid 2-in-1 cordless vacuum. It performed great in 5 out of our 6 cleaning tests, with the only struggle being on large debris (cereal). While the stated run time of 90 minutes sounds great, in our tests it ran a maximum of 37 minutes. Even so, we found it long enough to clean a moderately sized home on a single charge. At 190 air watts the T30 has tons of suction power, includes lots of attachments, and was an easy to use vacuum.

Table of Contents

🧪 Performance

To gauge the full performance of any vacuum we test, we look at three different types of performance. We assess:

Cleaning Performance

Suction Performance

Run Time Performance

Cleaning Performance

First, let’s start with cleaning performance. For this test, we opted to take a more usability-focused approach.

We tested the vac in everyday cleaning scenarios including:

Cleaning hardwoods Cleaning area rugs Vacuuming up large debris Cleaning upholstery Hard surface dusting Cleaning pet hair

These tests showed how well the vacuum was able to clean each area, but also how easy the vacuum could change and adapt to varying cleaning tasks around an average home.

Here are some of the conclusions from our findings:

Hardwoods Good Area Rugs Good Large Debris Okay

Upholstery Good Dusting Good Pet Hair Good

#1. Hardwoods

On hardwoods, the T30 was successful. It’s easy to maneuver around the space and the multi-floor brushroll uses soft bristles that are gentle on the floor.

I also found that the T30 was quieter than expected on hardwoods. All in all, I would say that the T30 was fantastic for whole-home cleaning on hard surface flooring.

#2. Area Rugs

On area rugs, you can hear a shift in the suction power as the T30 transitions between adjacent flooring types.

I could also check out the digital display and see a clear increase when the vacuum started sucking up more debris from the rug (as compared to the hardwoods surrounding it).

#3. Large Debris

Vacuuming large debris was a bit trickier, as the T30 didn’t really come with the perfect tool for this kind of mess. I primarily used the combination tool, which was pretty good, but not great.

In addition, I also noticed a bit of a clog towards the end of the cleaning, I would say that the T30 is not really designed for large amounts of large debris, but in a pinch it can get the job done.

Clogged debris on the Dreame T30

#4. Upholstery

For cleaning upholstery, I switched from the stick vacuum mode to the handheld mode and tried out a few different attachments.

Dreametech T30 stick vacuum – cleaning upholstery

The combination tool was good for cleaning between the couch cushions. To clean the cushions themselves, I switched to the mini-motorized brushroll and it was excellent at removing debris here.

#5. Dusting

For dusting hard surfaces, I tried the soft dusting head on the combination tool. I also tested out the flexible hose which was pretty handy at cleaning hard-to-reach areas.

Dreametech T30 stick vacuum dusting with the flexible hose

#6. Pet Hair

Cleaning pet hair was done with the vacuum in stick mode as well as handheld mode. This vacuum easily detected pet hair and increased suction to remove it effectively.

I also didn’t notice any hair clogging around the brushroll when cleaning was complete.

Emptying the pet hair from the dust bin was a little tricky, which is not uncommon for these types of vacuums.

The hair tends to gather at the top of the dust bin and if you’re not careful, you can overfill the dust cup, which makes it harder to empty.

Dreametech T30 stick vacuum dust bin

But as long as you stop cleaning when the bin is full, it should be able to empty without trouble.

Suction Performance

The T30 has a max suction of up to 190 AW. There are three different manual power levels which each have different amounts of suction, including:

Turbo Medium Eco

There is also one automated mode that automatically adjusts suction to varying floor types.

Turbo max suction

shortest run time Medium moderate suction

average run time

Eco min suction

longest run time Auto variable suction

variable run time

Auto Mode allows the vacuum to automatically adjust suction based on what type of flooring is detected, whereas the other three suction levels are manual settings.

How do you change suction levels?

You can use the digital display to cycle through the different suction levels, but once a level is selected, the T30 will continue to operate in that mode until a new mode is selected.

Run Time Performance

Run time on the Dreametech vacuum will depend on what suction level is selected and what type of mess you’re cleaning up.

According to the manufacturer, the T30 will run for up to 90 minutes on Eco mode and get progressively less as you cycle through higher suction models.

When we tested the run time in-house, the T30 listed the following max run times:

Eco 37 mins. Medium 25 mins. Turbo 10 mins.

I was a little surprised to see the run times be as short as they were, even on Eco mode. Even with variables like floor type and debris, 37 minutes still feels like a far cry away from 90 minutes.

That being said, I used this vacuum to clean a 2400 sf. home and found the run time to be sufficient for all of the cleaning, without having to recharge the battery mid-cycle.

Noise Tests

Lastly, we also test the noise generated by the vacuum using a sound meter.

Eco 68 dB Medium 73 dB Turbo 77 dB

Our noise tests were tested cleaning a hardwood floor with the sound meter sitting just a few feet away from the vacuum cleaner.

These results show that the T30 falls in the mid-range for a vacuum of this type.

The design of the Dreametech T30 is a 2-in-1 vacuum that serves the purpose of a powerful stick vac as well as a portable handheld.

It is quick and easy to snap together the varying attachments and it offers some shortcuts for easier maintenance and usability.

It comes with one cleaning head for all floor types, which uses a centrally located spiral brushroll to capture debris and deposit it into the dust bin.

Underside of the brushroll on the Dreame T30 vacuum

The dustbin itself has a capacity of 600 mL with a washable filter and cyclone for easy maintenance.

Trigger Lock

To use the T30 stick vac, you use the same trigger like what you’d see on a Dyson. Hold the trigger to have power when you need it and save power by simply releasing the trigger.

There is also a digital lock located on the digital display screen which allows the trigger to lock so you don’t have to hold it the whole time.

This feature is nice for extended cleaning runs.

Digital Display

There is a digital display screen on the back of the handheld unit that displays important information about the run cycle and other basic features including:

Power on / off Estimated remaining run time Suction mode Trigger lock Dust detection

How big is the Dreame T30?

The Dreametech T30 is moderately sized for a vacuum in this class. The exact dimensions are:

Length – 49″

– 49″ Width – 9.8″

As a stick vacuum, the T30 weighs 6.3 lbs (including the cleaning head).

As a handheld vacuum, the T30 weighs 2.7 lbs. (not including handheld tools).

Parts & Accessories

The parts and accessories included with the T30 allow for flexible use of this vacuum in stick vac or handheld mode.

The wall mount also comes with a sticker template that makes it easier to properly mount on the wall. The mount itself, as well as the mounting template, are both nice additions since the T30 cannot stand on its own.

👍 Setup & Usability

The setup of the T30 was simple and quick, right out of the box. It only took about 5 minutes to remove all original packaging and click together the vacuum to create the desired configuration.

Unboxing the Vacuum

Similar to other cordless stick vacuums in the market, the T30 uses a similar “quick-release” design that allows the parts to quickly snap into place without much reading or trial-and-error.

Using the Dreame T30

To create the stick vacuum, connect the:

Maintenance

Maintenance on the Dreame T30 isn’t terribly difficult, nor is it expensive. There are a number of washable parts that keep maintenance costs down and the simple design makes all maintenance pretty quick and easy to do.

Here’s the maintenance checklist for the T30:

Empty the dustbin: holds up to 600 mL Charge / replace the battery: up to a 90-minute run time Wash parts as needed: includes washable filter, cyclone, and brushroll

Emptying the dust bin is simple, as there’s a single button release for the latch, which causes the bin to open and empty the debris into a trash can below.

Release latch for the Dreametech T30 dust bin Open hatch on the Dreametech T30 handheld

Once the bin is empty, you can remove the cyclone or filter to wash (as needed).

To wash these parts, simply run under warm water until clean and allow to dry for up to 24 hours before reinstalling.

You can also wash the brushroll using the same technique.

Maintenance Alerts

Other maintenance issues may also be displayed on the back of the handheld. These alerts will generally cause the vacuum to discontinue use until you address the problem.

Follow the text prompt and illustration until the issue is resolved.

Dreame T30 vs. Roborock H7

The Best Stick Vacuum Cleaner 2022

Updated on 8 March 2022

After 19 hours of research, detailed examination of 39 models and testing of 12 of them, the Xiaomi Mi Vacuum G10 stood out thanks to a number of qualities that demonstrate its good price/performance ratio.

This comparison is certified 100% impartial and follows our selection process.

Our choice, Best mid-range Xiaomi Mi Vacuum G10 Very pleasant to use, this upright hoover offers a very good price-quality ratio thanks to its screen, its three suction modes, the variety of its accessories and a particularly low noise level. £ 264.40 on Amazon

The newcomer from Xiaomi did not only convince us with its good overall suction performance: indeed, during our tests, we were able to appreciate a nice overall design, very pleasant to use, from the display indicating the chosen mode and the battery level to the varied and practical accessories. The water tank with mop will please the most demanding users, but it does not mean you do not have to clean with water. Its noise level is also very appreciable compared to the Dyson and Rowenta models tested.

Best budget Black+Decker PowerSeries+ Pleasant to use, very light and easy to handle, this model offers the best quality/small price ratio in our opinion. It also has a good level of suction. On the other hand, it is rather noisy. £ 170.00 on Amazon

Coming with a single crevice tool as an accessory, this upright hoover can count on a good level of suction for its small price. It is very easy to handle and we found it very pleasant to use thanks to its limited weight. However, it does come with a few shortcomings, such as its unpleasant noise level at full power and its perfectible battery life. Moreover, we do not recommend it to pet owners who will quickly fill the small collector and will have difficulty emptying it, as the hair will cling to it. To conclude, we recommend it for occasional uses on hard floors.

Best high-end Dreame T30 Offering excellent performance on hard floors, short pile carpets and rugs, this model manages to compete with the Dyson models for a much lower price while also including a very good Auto mode. £ 423.46 on Amazon

In addition to its undeniably more premium look than its cheaper competitors, we noticed during our tests that this T30 offers more premium features. Indeed, its HD display screen allowed us, for example, to know at any time the remaining autonomy, the level of dust on our floor or what power level we were using. It has Eco, Normal and Turbo modes in addition to a relevant and efficient automatic mode. Also note that this model will appeal to pet owners thanks to its electric brush specifically designed for fabrics. The other accessories, similar if not identical to those on the G10, are equally relevant and none of them will remain unused on the charging station for very long.

High-end alternative Dyson V11 Absolute Pro The Dyson is a great performer on all floors and has a record-breaking battery life. It’s also really comfortable to use, thanks to its LCD screen and numerous accessories. See the price on Amazon

Living up to Dyson’s reputation, the V11 Absolute is a cordless hoover that is both practical and powerful. It works on both hard floors and carpets and automatically adjusts the suction power to the detected floor surface. It has an autonomy of up to 60 minutes, which is twice as long as that of a traditional upright hoover. The LCD screen makes it easy to use by displaying the remaining autonomy and the activated power level.

Honourable Mentions

Dyson V8 Animal+ (£357,90 upon publication): an interesting older model. Even if the more recent models have better characteristics (particularly in terms of battery life), the V8 does not lose out and allows access to the formidable quality of Dyson suction at a lower cost. Our tests convinced us, with the exception of the lack of a trigger lock, which greatly reduces its ergonomics and led us to exclude it from our main selection.

Dyson V15 Detect Absolute (£699 upon publication): the hyper technological novelty. The brand’s latest product is equipped with both a laser dust detector and microparticle sensors that it counts and measures in real time. It also automatically adapts its power to the level of dust detected. There is also something new in the accessories, with a mini conical brush that is intended to be self-detaching. Although we have not yet been able to test it, the reviews we have seen online are already very enthusiastic. Only the price puts us off a little.

How to choose a stick hoover?

The upright hoover is becoming increasingly popular and is almost supplanting all other hoovers on the market. Practical for those who have to regularly vacuum their main living space, this compact, cordless and high-performance appliance has a lot going for it.

Here’s a quick overview of the criteria to look out for when making your purchase:

Ergonomics : its size, more compact and lighter than a canister hoover, is the first reason to favour the upright hoover. Some models are even able to stand upright without a stand. It is also easier to handle, freeing you from the heavy sled to pull behind you and the cord that limits the range of action. Before buying, always test the grip of the appliance to see if the handle and trigger.

Power : in terms of figures, it is difficult to really assess the value of a hoover without evaluating it, as power is a combination of several factors. From a practical point of view, it is interesting to choose one with several power levels, to adapt to all floor coverings.

Battery life : for now, this varies from 30 to 60 minutes at normal power. At maximum power, this figure is greatly reduced, sometimes to less than 10 minutes. The larger your home, the longer the battery will have to last. Also take a look at the time it takes to fully recharge, which varies from 2 to 5 hours.

The tank : it is generally smaller than on a canister hoover, often with a capacity of less than 1 L. This means that you have to empty it more often, but this is usually made easier by a touchless emptying system.

Noise : this is not the quietest hoover, as it is difficult for manufacturers to soundproof a device of this size without affecting its weight. The average noise level is around 80 dB but can be even higher at maximum power.

The accessories : the variety of these allows its use to be multiplied in all corners of the house. For example, there is a long nozzle for corners and skirting boards and a brush for vacuuming fabrics (especially for pet owners). Most upright vacuums can also be converted into a handheld hoover. The storage station is also an interesting space-saving accessory, especially if it allows simultaneous recharging.

Dreame V16 unveiled, while Dyson V15 also

The Dreame machine seems unstoppable! Indeed, while the Dreame V12 keeps western fans of the brand waiting, the Dreame V16 unveiled.

Dreame is, without doubt, one of the most innovative Chinese tech companies of the moment. And they demonstrate it during the Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) 2021, the Chinese version of the Consumer Electronics Show. During this event, the brand showed his new Dreame T30 (upgraded version of the V12) and Dreame L10 Pro, a robot that avoids obstacles.

Dreame V16 exposed at AWE

But, the big surprise is his new flagship, the Dreame V16. We remember how the Dreame V11 performs in front of the Dyson V11. This time, it seems that the Chinese brand wants to continue the battle! Indeed, both brands unveiled their new flagship at the same time and with a similar name. However, where Dreame wants to continue to purpose quality at the best price, Dyson, on the other hand, continues to increase his price. A story that reminds the smartphone war between Xiaomi and Apple.

Dreame V16 close the gap with Dyson

During the AWE, Dreame Head of Business said:

We hope more users can enjoy a high-quality life through smart home appliances Shan Kuan

So, what we understand is Dreame wants to be known for his good value price. This is not surprising as Xiaomi invested in Dreame Technology. And Xiaomi is also known for this value. So the Dreame V16 price should stay around 250$ like the previous version. On the opposite, the British brand increases the price of its new Dyson V16 to reach 700$. So it could be interesting to know what each brand give for the price:

Dreame V16 Dyson V15 200AW 230AW 160 000 RPM 125 000 RPM Long tube in carbon fibers Long tube in aluminum 90 min non-replaceable battery 60 min replaceable battery 12 cyclones 14 cyclones Back-projected illuminated floor brush Laser Slim floor brush 250$ (not confirmed) 700$ Dreame V16 vs Dyson V15

Dyson detects the invisible

Comparing to the previous version, the V11, Dyson increase his price of 100$ on the V15 to detect the invisible. We also gain 10 AW of vacuum power. So what we mean by it detect the invisible? Laser Slim floor brush of the Dyson V15 has a laser that detects the particles you can’t normally see. In the end, Dyson made the choice to increase the price of his new vacuum to allow you to clean what you normally don’t see.

Dreame create a more powerful vacuum

On the other hand, Dreame concentrate his effort to create a more powerful vacuum with his new SPACE 6.0 motor. Even if we don’t know the Dreame V16’s price, we suggest that the price will stay the same as the other V series, around 250$. But with the usage of carbon fiber as a premium material could increase the V series price to reach 300 to 400$. Afterward, this is only a thought! Such improvement will decrease the weight drastically to make the Dreame V16 probably the most lightweight vacuum. To conclude the specification, we read that the new Dreame is equipped with a back-projected illuminated floor brush. We also know that the light will adapt to the ambient luminosity. But only the review will let you know which illuminated floor projection between Dreame and Dyson is better.

Lastly, it’s not possible to buy nor Dreame V16 neither Dyson V15 for the moment. But the Dyson should arrive soon in the U.S. as the page is already published on the Dyson website. On the other hand, Dreame will probably launch his new vacuum soon in China. This time, we hope it will be available faster than the Dreame V12 on the overseas market!
