MINI CLUSTER The MINI CLUSTER hybrid cassette construction combines four small cogs that are CNC machined out of a single block of billet steel with an additional eight cogs that are individually pinned together. The result: a cassette that’s light, durable and equipped with a gear range that’s a perfect fit for any ride.
XDR The XDR driver body is a universal mounting system for cassettes that incorporate cogs with fewer than 11 teeth. It allows for lighter and more versatile drivetrains without requiring new rear axle standards, cassette tools or hub redesigns. The XDR interface is 1.85mm longer than XD and is designed for road hub applications. XDR driver bodies are compatible with all XD cassettes when the cassette is installed with a 1.85mm spacer. Cette cassette est développée depuis un an avec les équipes SRAM et les athlètes professionnels qui ont fait de nombreux retours positifs sur la version Rival AXS. SRAM a donc choisi de proposer une option 10-30 au niveau Force AXS XG-1270 qui propose le même étagement que la cassette SRAM Rival mais avec une finition qui s’harmonise mieux avec le groupe Force AXS.
La cassette sera disponible en finition nickel-chrome avec une disponibilité prévue pour août 2021.
New SRAM Force 10-30 cassette splits the difference for finely tuned gear steps
The new SRAM Force 10-30 cassette brings a wide-ish range gearing option to their 2nd tier road group. It slots in between the original 10-26, 10-28, and 10-33 cassettes, and the more recent 10-36 cassette that requires a different rear derailleur.
Fortunately, this one falls well within the capabilities of the original AXS rear derailleurs for both Red and Force groups, so you can swap it in anytime you want to tweak your gear ratios slightly. Tooth counts for all cassettes are:

The recently introduced Rival AXS group got a 10-30 cassette at launch, but in terms of weight savings by piece-mealing a group, the cassette is one of the easiest areas to drop a lot of weight. So, consider this along with the Rival shifters and derailleurs for a more cost-effective all-road build, and their power meter cranks are some of the most affordable on the market.
This new Force XG-1270 10-30 cassette uses their mini-cluster design and is for XD-R freehub bodies only. It also gets the latest. The retail price is $185 (€190 / £170, both including VAT), available starting August 2021.
As a reminder, the original 10-26 Force cassette has been discontinued, so you might still be able to find it in the original all black colorway, but not with this nickel-chrome finish with a dark alloy large cog backplate. Red level components will still offer that 10-26 option.

Tried and tested in the mountain bike sector for years, the 10-tooth sprocket is now also finding its way into racing bikes. This is made possible by the new SRAM XDR freewheel standard. The advantages are obvious: with the same bandwidth, the cassette can be made even lighter. In addition, weight can be saved on the crank, as smaller chainrings are necessary for the same maximum development as with an 11-tooth sprocket. The additional 12th pinion significantly expands the intended use the cassette in combination with the eTap AXS 1-speed group. Compared to the previous version, the shift gates have been further optimized and matched to the electronic eTap AXS rear derailleur. The result is even faster and smoother gear changes. The pinions made of tool steel are connected to each other with the SRAM mini-cluster construction via pins. The cassette’s largest pinion, made of aluminum, ensures a significant weight reduction.
